UK placed gambing group Betfair has made an unusual marketing internet casino solution. The wagering group has decided to become a sponsor of a women’s beach volleyball team and is going to put a QR code on the team’s bikini bottoms.

According to Marketing Magazine beach volleyball players Shauna Mullin and Zara Dampney are the first female athletes which will be asking onlookers to take photos of their bikini bottoms.

Company is sure that this is the first time QR codes have been used in in-play sports advertising campaign and the place where it is going to be placed has been chosen carefully – there is a great probability that it will be showed on the photos most of all.

QR codes look like a bar code, and could be read by platform commonly accessible on a smartphone. As soon as the QR code is scanned by the telephone, the smartphone owner will be sent to Betfair’s site.
A test run will be operated at the London 2012 Beach Volleyball Qualifying Tournament.
